Henry Smith realized his dream of opening an independent practice in 2008. The Smith & Assosiate group in Stellenbosch established on 1 August 2008 and Henry was the founder.

Directors

Heidi Smith (Director – Audit)

Heidi matriculated at Montagu High School and subsequently studied B Accounting at the University of Stellenbosch. She obtained her Hons B Accounting degree in 1995 and passed her qualifying examination in March 1996. Heidi completed her articles at Deloitte Cape Town and was appointed audit manager, a position she filled for two years. 

Since 2001 she lectured financial accounting at the University of Stellenbosch to under and post graduate B Accounting students - with the prospect of qualifying as chartered accountants. 

In December 2005 she obtained her M Accounting degree at the University of Stellenbosch. Heidi has specialist knowledge in respect of international financial reporting standards. 

Heidi is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (Chartered Accountant (SA)), the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (Registered Auditor), as well as the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (Professional Accountant (SA)). 

She is also responsible for quality control in the training role that our office fulfills by offering articles which are accredited by both the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and the South African Institute of Professional Accountants. 

She joined our firm on a full time basis in April 2009 as a director in our audit division. 


Henry Smith (Director – Personal Business Services and Trust and Secretarial Services)

Henry matriculated at Stellenbosch High School and afterwards obtained a B Accounting degree at the University of Stellenbosch. He also obtained a Hons B Compt degree at UNISA. In 1995 he joined the LDP Incorporated group, located in Stellenbosch, and completed his articles with the firm. In 1999 Henry was appointed as LDP Incorporated’s youngest director ever - in the history of the firm - at the time. 

In 2004 Henry obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Tax Law Cum Laude from the University of Stellenbosch. 

Henry is a member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (Professional Accountant (SA)) as well as the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (Associate General Accountant (SA)). 

He specialises in company secretarial practice and is also responsible for trust administration and the administration of estates.

Henry has longstanding relationships with the majority of our clients and places high value on personal contact in order to provide a purpose specific service. He has exceptional practical tax knowledge and specialises in tax and estate planning.

Henry Whitehead matriculated at Paarl Boys’ High in 1997.


He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and obtained the degrees B Accounting and Hons B Compt at the University of Stellenbosch and UNISA respectively. Henry completed his articles at the LDP Incorporated group in 2005.  


He was appointed in the capacity as Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cayman Islands, from October 2005 until August 2010.  Henry returned to South Africa at the end of 2010 and then joined the Smith & Assosiate group.


He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (Chartered Accountant (SA)).





Inus Viljoen (Manager)

Inus matriculated at Stellenberg High School in 1999. He graduated at the University of Stellenbosch and UNISA, subsequently commencing his articles at the LDP Incorporated group in 2005. He was appointed as manager, after completing his articles, in 2008.
Inus joined Smith & Assosiate Incorporated on 1 August 2008 as manager, where he assists the directors in the Audit, Accounting, Tax and IT divisions.
In his spare time Inus coaches at a community gymnastics club in Durbanville. He was appointed as Assistant National Coach in 2006 and has coached a number of gymnasts whom have won medals at international competition level.

Roller Coaster Report Wednesday, 25 July 2012
After a fast start to the race, eight riders managed to break away on the ascent of Ou Kaapse Weg’s east side. Smith & Assosiate / OBike Maties were represented by Victor Grobbelaar and Stefan Ihlenfeldt while Daikin/Gu’s David Garrett and SA Road Champ Darren Lill (Bonitas), along with Renay Goustra (RSA Web) and Lance Muller (Brothers Sport) were other notable riders in the break.
Ihlenfeldt Takes Double Victory, Series Wednesday, 25 July 2012
This past weekend saw the finale of the Aca Joe Pro Classic  Series with two races in two days.  On Saturday the cyclists competed in the Wellington Lions Race over 94km and Sunday the series finished off with the Bay City Cycle Tour over 84km.
